An important new source of funding to help spread Objectivism was announced last year in July. Through the Objectivist Venture Fund (OVF), Carl Barney, ARI board member, has committed up to one million dollars to support Objectivists with imagination and persistence who want to put these funds to good use in advancing Ayn Rand’s philosophy. To date, OVF has received more than forty proposals from around the world and has awarded over $500,000 to projects with well-defined plans and clear objectives.

The month of March proved to be an eventful one at ARI in the area of educator outreach. With the goal of increasing awareness of ARI’s Free Books to Teachers and Essay Contest programs, representatives from the Institute attended two national conferences aimed at high school teachers, administrators and school board members.
The Ayn Rand Institute (ARI) announced today the launch of Ayn Rand Institute Europe. ARI Europe will further ARI’s mission to foster awareness, understanding and acceptance of Ayn Rand’s philosophy of Objectivism. As Rand’s ideas continue to gain interest across Europe, ARI will establish a presence to engage audiences and advance the Objectivist movement.

During the last few weeks, ARI’s executive director, Yaron Brook, has been touring Europe giving talks on a wide variety of topics. He has spoken in the U.K., Norway, Germany, Poland, Serbia and in the Netherlands on topics such as the morality of capitalism, the immorality of the welfare state, the virtue of selfishness, and economic inequality.
Contrary to conservatives, Ayn Rand supported the right to abortion; contrary to liberals, she opposed environmentalism; and contrary to libertarians (and others), she upheld a firm, assertive foreign policy. What unites these seemingly disparate positions? And what explains the moral fire with which she expressed her views on these issues?
On October 11 – 12, the nation’s only Objectivist campus magazine, The Undercurrent, hosted the first students-only conference devoted to Ayn Rand’s philosophy, Objectivism.
