Obamacare In Pictures

The Heritage Foundation has created a helpful visual guide to assessing Obamacare’s impact. The kinds of impacts explored include (among many others):

  • The number of policies cancelled because they don’t comply with Obamacare’s regulations
  • How Obamacare has affected premiums
  • How much Obamacare has changed employer-sponsored plans
  • The cost to taxpayers for some of Obamacare’s new entitlements

What caught my eye is the confirmation that Obamacare has mostly increased premiums for those for whom it was allegedly trying to lower costs: those older and less healthy. This isn’t an unexpected result; when the state government of New York imposed similar regulations to Obamacare in the 1990’s,
everyone saw their premiums go up.
