ICYMI New Op-Ed: “Fifteen Years After 9/11, We Still Don’t Understand the Enemy”
On September 11, 2016, The Federalist published an op-ed by Elan Journo, in which he argues that we have failed to end the jihadist menace because our leaders have failed and refuse to identify the enemy’s ideological nature:
Can you imagine America achieving victory in World War II had we viewed the enemy as “Kamikazi-ism” rather Japanese totalitarianism? Regardless, following 9/11 the nature of the enemy was widely misunderstood, and 14 years later things have gotten worse.
The problem goes way beyond ignorance. Ignorance is where everyone starts out. But the jihadists have never made their cause secret. . . .
