In this interview, recorded live on September 11, 2017, Ayn Rand Institute fellow and foreign policy expert Elan Journo reflects on a post 9/11 world. In the interview, Journo discusses: Now that Osama bin Laden is dead, who is the enemy and what unites them? The United States has the most powerful military in the world — so why are we still facing a threat from Islamic totalitarians? What myths surround 9/11?
If a war ever breaks out between North Korea and the United States, Americans will surely raise some serious questions about the morality of war. For example, do we have the right to bomb and kill innocent civilians? Even in a war of self-defense?
“In Equal Is Unfair, we champion the political equality supported by the Founding Fathers, and show how the fight against economic inequality threatens it,” said Don Watkins. “In this article, we are able to go much more deeply into the evolution of the concept of political equality, why it was such a profound achievement, and why it is at risk today.”
“For some readers of Atlas Shrugged, Francisco d’Anconia becomes and remains their top favorite character,” said Shoshana Milgram. “He is irresistible. He is relished for his wit, for his swagger, for his courage, for his elegance. From the standpoint of pure literary pleasure, why wouldn’t I wish to write about Francisco, first and foremost?”
Regardless of what course President Trump chooses in dealing with the threat from North Korea, there is an important lesson we can and should learn from this foreign policy disaster: appeasing our enemies is suicidal.

“Oh, hi there,” says Carl Benjamin in a recent video, looking up at the camera from his well-bookmarked copy of The Ominous Parallels by Leonard Peikoff. “I’ve been doing some reading, and I’ve discovered something I think you should know. The Nazis were bad. Let me explain to you why.”
The main purpose of the Project is to create a quality study resource for future generations of readers. But we also hope that in developing study resources that generate discussion online, we will help foster the creation of local, in-person discussion groups, groups that might become the seeds for future Objectivist community groups.
