Government’s Proper Attitude Toward Islam [Video]

When people hear it said that Islam is America’s philosophical enemy, they often recoil at the mistaken implication that the police may therefore arrest anyone who adheres to that religion. But there is a crucial distinction, argues Peter Schwartz, between a philosophical enemy and a political enemy.

In this video from a panel discussion at Objectivist Summer Conference 2015, Schwartz clarifies this distinction and explains why “what the government does is take action against those who use or threaten to use force, or those who abet and empower and assist the users of force.”
