Yaron Brook in China

ARI’s executive director Yaron Brook recently traveled through China to promote the publication of the Chinese translation of Free Market Revolution: How Ayn Rand’s Ideas Can End Big Government. Co-authored by Brook and Don Watkins in 2012, Free Market Revolution illustrates why Ayn Rand’s ideas are key to solving the economic and political ills of our time.

Brook gave seven talks in China about the ideas in the book, addressing hundreds of free market thinkers, academics, intellectuals and students. Here are some of the highlights:

  • A presentation titled “Ayn Rand and The Inequality Debate” at the Mont Pelerin Society’s annual meeting in Hong Kong. The Mont Pelerin Society is an international, invitation-only organization for scholars who promote free market economics.
  • A talk on the morality of capitalism at the Jinhe Center of Economics Research at Xi’an Jiaotong University in Xian. The event attracted an audience of 250 students. Most of the talk, including the Q&A, is available on YouTube.
  • A series of talks in Beijing about Free Market Revolution. One of those talks, which was held at the Free Thinkers Club, is available on YouTube.
  • Book launch at Jifeng Bookstore in Shanghai, attended by one hundred people. Photos from the event are available here (courtesy of Winston Ling).
